The app removes network access from its own manifest, even when a library asks for it. Antartica can't send anything anywhere.
No sign-in, no analytics, no ads and no crash reporters. Open it and edit.
Photos come in through the system photo picker or another app's share menu, so Antartica only sees the photos you hand it.
Projects live in the app's private storage and are left out of device backups. Exports drop GPS location unless you keep it.
The toolkit

Start from a look, then make it yours. Thumbnails are rendered live from your own photo, so you see the result before you tap.
Every panel you'd expect from a desktop editor, rendered in a single GPU pass with no 8-bit steps in between. Nothing lags, even on a 48 MP photo.
.cube LUTsGeometry is applied last, as a view of the photo, so re-cropping never shifts your masks, retouching or layers.
Brighten a face, darken a sky, warm a single wall. Each mask carries its own Light, Color, Effects and Detail adjustments.
Brush over an object and a content-aware fill rebuilds what was behind it. Every spot and stroke stays editable: move it, re-source it or delete it later.
Build posters, covers and collages on top of your photo, or start from a blank canvas up to 40 MP.
Non-destructive
It's the same gesture as in the editor. Every edit is stored as instructions, never baked into your photo, so you can change or undo anything at any time: 100 undo steps, a full history, and named versions you can come back to.
Light as ice
Measured on 26 September 2026 with the 1.0.0 release build on a Solana Seeker (Android 16, 120 Hz). When you're not touching anything, the editor draws zero frames.
Phones, tablets, foldables
On a phone the photo sits on top and never jumps between tools. In landscape and on large screens you get a side panel and a navigation rail.
Fold, unfold, rotate, split screen or resize a window. The editor re-lays itself around your work, and running exports keep going.
Ctrl Z to undo, Ctrl E to export, hold \ for the original, [ ] for brush size. Brushes follow stylus pressure.
The details
JPEG, PNG or WebP, at full size, 4K, 2K, 1080 or your own. Big photos render in tiles and stream to the file, so a 48 MP export works on a phone.
100 undo steps while you edit. The last 30 survive closing the app, even if Android kills it. Save a whole edit as a version and reuse it.
Import one photo or many at once, start from a blank canvas, sort, duplicate, and batch export, each photo with its own edits.
The library follows your wallpaper with Material You, in light or dark. The editor stays neutral dark, so you judge color correctly.
Every control is labelled for TalkBack, canvas gestures have spoken alternatives, and layouts hold up at 200 % font size.
Double-tap any slider to reset it, or tap its number and type a value. Sliders tick with haptics, if you want them to.
Questions, answered
No. It doesn't even have permission to use one. Everything, from the preview to the full-resolution export, runs on your device, and it works the same in airplane mode.
Any phone, tablet or foldable with Android 13 or newer. The editor is built on GPU shaders that arrived in Android 13, which is why older versions aren't supported.
Whatever your phone can decode: JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF, AVIF, GIF and BMP. RAW (DNG) files aren't supported yet. You can export to JPEG, PNG or WebP.
Projects, originals and presets stay in the app's private storage and aren't included in device backups. Only the images you export are saved to Pictures/Antartica, with GPS location removed by default.
Never. Antartica works on its own copy and keeps every edit as a set of instructions. You can reset one panel, reset everything, or go back to how the photo looked when you opened it.
